Future classic. Style free from dress codes. Cruise casual and informal daily black-tie. The Ukrainian men’s clothing brand Damirli has unveiled its new mid-season drop, “Classics of the Future,” with renowned actor and television host Andriy Biedniakov as its lead.
“We blended all dress codes together and created pieces that look special but not overdressed. Relaxed yet refined. Not rebellious, but not traditional either. Very smart, but not at all casual. Neither cruise nor black-tie, but everything at once. Andriy Bednyakov inspired all this – just by coming to us for bespoke tailoring and showing how it all fits together in his eclectic yet cohesive personality. Everything fell into place effortlessly. I am grateful Andriy agreed to be the face of this drop, as I couldn't imagine another hero for it,” jokes Elvira Damirova (Gasanova), Damirli’s creative director.
“This is the classic of the future. At least for our brand. At most – the favourite brand of men. Men who can afford to dress in comfortable yet noticeable clothing of impeccable quality across dress codes. If your man is like that, we are your joker,” Elvira adds.
“Damirli started as bespoke, high-quality men's classic clothing. We have come a long way – tailoring unique and recognisable suits for Usyk for the most high-profile boxing matches in the world, tuxedos for Ukrainian documentarians who won an Oscar, and American musicians who received a Grammy this year.
We are a Ukrainian brand, so we create unique embroidered shirts for top-tier world politicians. We are the authors, probably, of the most recognisable polos, sweatshirts, and embroidered shirts with the trident, worn by the President. What more could we wish for? We love this reputation, but we wanted to create a drop of everyday items that have a recognisable style and become classics of the future for our brand. We searched for inspiration and unexpectedly found it.
Any creativity bears the imprint of its time. Our time breeds strong people. We are inspired by Ukrainian men. We take their best traits to create a new hero of today. A person who has gone through easy and hard times and, having gained experience and personal victories, moves forward. The future classic. We did this last time with Superhumans when we dressed Ukrainian soldiers in bespoke, and we are doing it now – bringing the future closer.
It is easy to explain how Italian classics differ from British ones. However, we strive to add Ukrainian classics to them,” says Ehtiram Damirov, co-founder of Damirli.
